About Me

Sequim, Washington
Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, the scents of the garden, and the purpose of discovery. Exploration occurs in each of us. . . “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Our simple “Cottage On The Bay” takes one's breath away. . . Most inspiring are the times spent with family and friends at our Cottage On The Bay. Long walks on the beach collecting sea glass and seashells, or looking for that perfectly sand washed stone that can add brilliance to a fine piece of jewelry; these are the miracles of nature that are so intriguing. Among our many affinities, searching for antiques and unique objects, enjoying the hunt for one-of-a-kind findings, and “marrying” these old treasures with things new gives us pleasure. Our love for cottage style decor, handmade creations, or capturing a moment in photography are the things my daughter, Michelle, and I aspire to share with family and friends. . .

Shelves Using Old Ceiling Tin

I love finding old things and turning them into something new, beautiful and useful.  We picked up a 4 ft. piece of ceiling tin awhile ago and I knew just what I wanted to do with it, but life often gets in the way of my creative side and fun projects.  Well, with the help of my wonderfully skilled husband who does the main construction, I was able to do all the finish work to complete this long overdue project.

I love it!  We cut old wood shelves made from heavy-duty plywood, used a good wood filler for open spaces and the sides and with a little time spent on sanding and painting....

Waaa...Laa!!!  My beautiful creation that accompanies the flat-screen TV.....It all looks so much nicer than you're typical shelf or TV stand.....I don't care much for that look!  Now I need to find some additional pieces so I can make a few more shelves with this old ceiling tin stuff.

So What Do You Think???
