About Me

Sequim, Washington
Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, the scents of the garden, and the purpose of discovery. Exploration occurs in each of us. . . “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Our simple “Cottage On The Bay” takes one's breath away. . . Most inspiring are the times spent with family and friends at our Cottage On The Bay. Long walks on the beach collecting sea glass and seashells, or looking for that perfectly sand washed stone that can add brilliance to a fine piece of jewelry; these are the miracles of nature that are so intriguing. Among our many affinities, searching for antiques and unique objects, enjoying the hunt for one-of-a-kind findings, and “marrying” these old treasures with things new gives us pleasure. Our love for cottage style decor, handmade creations, or capturing a moment in photography are the things my daughter, Michelle, and I aspire to share with family and friends. . .

Se Fina Jewelry Design

For nearly two years, my search for sea glass has taken me along the beaches of Western Washington.  With the precious sand washed pieces of glass I've collected, I create "one of a kind" jewelry.  Bracelets, necklaces and earrings....combined with pearls, semi-precious stones, seashells and silver.

My PMC sterling silver designs have been added to these sea glass creations.  Here's a sampling of my sea glass designs in light and dark amber, blues, greens and frosted pieces.

Clusters of sterling silver wrapped crystals adorn this blue jade stone that dangles from a 16" square link   silver chain.

This is one of my favorite PMC silver creations in the shape of an angel wing.  Adorned with smokey gray-black crystals that tie in well with the dark gun metal chain, this is a popular piece.

A white conch shell hangs from this sterling silver chain.  Simple, but elegant.

Rhononite, is a gemstone that is considered to have healing properties with its grace and elegance.  Sterling silver beading mixes well with this stone in shades of pink and black.

Everyone needs to have at least one item of jewelry that includes turquoise.  I have several styles of necklaces and earrings, some with seashells, and all with silver components weaved into these pieces.

A tin box filled with antique buttons was given to me by my mother one day.  These buttons were so beautiful that I had to create a way to show them off.   Flea markets, antique shops and garage sales are all great places to locate old buttons and put them to great use again.    All are combined with silver findings and components, but my favorite is using the old rhinestone buttons to make these bracelets sparkle that much more!

Collecting old jewelry and reworking these pieces to make them elegant and new is my next venture.  I've collected wonderful old pieces of jewelry, some from my mother that are so precious to me.  Most I've found at flea markets and yard sales.  It's amazing what you can collect on a Saturday afternoon!
